It is a pleasure to endorse Dr. Ali Hussen and his staff, especially Sarath and Kristen, at Conestoga Eye Care. Dr. Hussen always listens carefully to what we, as patients, have to say about our vision. (As seniors in our 70s, the number and severity of our vision issues continues to grow!) His exams are thorough, never hurried. Many of you will recognize how unusual this is. We would recommend Dr. Hussen to anyone strictly on the basis of our experience of being examined and treated by him. But there is more to say about this dedicated doctor and his super-competent staff. Example: he has been instrumental in saving the sight of one of us (Jim). Years ago, Dr. Hussen recognized a tearing retina. He immediately got on the phone to the Ivey Eye Institute in London, secured a spot in the surgical ward. The successful surgery was done by 7:00 PM that same evening. He has been similarly proactive in his referrals of both of us over the past fifteen years or so. He knows the relevant specialists in SW Ontario; he has most of their cell phone numbers in his phone. From a simple eye exam to a speed-is-of-the-essence referral—we have total confidence in everyone at Conestoga Eye Care. Finally, we want to touch on an intangible but significant feature of our experience with Dr. Hussen. When we arrive at Conestoga Eye Care, we are made to feel like family, like part of a community. How you ever heard anyone say something like: “I am really looking forward to an appointment with my optometrist?” No? We say it all the time, and we mean it.
